“I started my business by accident. The reason I’m so successful is because I’m passionate about what I do. When young people are given the tools to make their passions a reality, the possibilities are endless.”
Name: Scott Hammell
Occupation: Entertainer
Location: Toronto Ontario
His Journey:
Scott Hammell has always been fascinated by stunts, tricks and the idea of magic. He has fond memories of his grandfather miraculously pulling toffee out of his ear when he would come over for a visit. Scott lights up as he recalls the memory: “I remember being so intrigued by it! I just thought; WOW…now that’s cool!” This appeal continued throughout his childhood. He recalls memories of going to his family cottage and having his cousins tie him up and lock him in the car as a prank. The fascination with escaping from entrapment started then. Years later, at the age of 12, Scott bought a book about juggling from a school book fair and the rest is history. With encouragement from his peers and teachers in high school, he not only began doing paid magic shows but also started motivational speaking.
At the age of 18, three weeks after his last high school exam, Scott attempted and succeeded his first world record stunt entitled; “Escape to Cloud Nine.” Scott set the world record for “World’s Highest Suspension Straight Jacket Escape” and landed on the popular television show “Ripley’s Believe it or Not”. With several other tricks and records under his belt, Scott’s motivational speaking career took off. His popular “Paid to Breathe” workshop is focused on, “a simple philosophy; it’s finding your passion and making it happen. If you love what you do, like breathing, you would be doing it anyway. If you could find a way to get paid for it, what could be better?”
Scott Hammell is not only a tremendous entertainer, but also an incredibly inspiring talent who focuses on continually challenging and growing himself while encouraging others to do the same. For more information or to book his services, please visit his website www.scotthammell.com.
